Yup, I'm leaving. I've realized I've become waaay to absorbed in this little dA world of mine, and I need to get back to the real world.

I have learned so much about other art on here, and I noticed that my skill improved greatly and quickly since I've been on here. But it's time to go.

I might be back on again under a new account, but not likely. But if I am I will notify y'all.

I hope that maybe I've made an impact here, just with my watchers if not anybody else, through my "teachings" as my friends like to call it.

Also, I might as well be kissing my dA life goodbye because I'm starting an internship at the vet clinic, plus I'm taking two AP courses this year in high school. And also, I've been spending mucho time with the horses. And I've gotten into making videos for fosters so thay can get adopted quicker! Check out the ones I made for Emma Jean and Claudia on YouTube, they're pretty good for a start. Type in "Habitat for Horses Emma Jean/Claudia" in the search engine and they should be there.

Well, I'll be off now! I had fun here! And I really will miss you guys. You all have inspired me

:hug:s to all.....

Read Naysa's story! Raise awareness about buying and selling at horse auctions. A lot of stories don't end happily there!

However, Naysa's ends happily after the auction bit. For all of y'all who read Fugly Horse of the Day (the best blog evar) I know this horse, and I went up to visit her only a few days after she came in. It was awful.

Bless her stubborn heart, she is in Florida now, with a pasture lined with palm trees, and the beach waves in the background. It's beautiful, and she enhances the scenery!

But seriously people, if ever you consider selling your horse at a live auction, CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING!

-Kill buyers that ship horses to Canada and Mexico go after the horses that are insanely cheap and that nobody wants (aka the one that doesn't have a hoard of people around them saying "Daddy, I want that pony!" because then they can make thier move without much attention paid.)

-I would recommend selling at a very nice auction, whether it be online or live, and one where they do background checks. And make sure you get to meet the future owner and have them visit several times, and make sure your horse meets them too. I can almost garuntee you that, even if the person seems great to you, if the horse seriously does not like him, that is a tell-tale sign of evil in thier heart, or that the owner is just not meant for your horse. Horses and handlers that don't get along often lead to frustrated owners, who can often resort to harsh words and yelling (which will terrify the unwilling horse even more) and, if the owner really is what the horse predicted: beatings. Don't look away if you see somebody do that to a horse, tell him that they should try to calmly coaxe the horse first. I'm not saying that I and the rest of the volunteers never raise our tone at spooked horses, but usually we don't raise our voice until after it's been over an hour of trying to get the ohrse into a trailer. When a horse kicks at us, we will get a lead rope and pop 'em on the butt. But never, ever do we BEAT them. So don't be shocked to see somebody pop the horse on the butt tog et it's attention, but if they are beating them, stop it however you can.

-If you have sold your horse, keep in contact with the owner!!!! We do that with all of our adopted horses, for thier sake. You don't have to do as long as the horse lives, but at least until you are positive that the horse is settled, or until you feel it is neccessary.

I will post up the last bit of my Breyerfest expedenture tomorrow.

======JOURNAL
Now, to continue on from unfabulous Friday!

Saturday: Got up unhealthfully early again lol and headed out to the Horse Park. I had read the Breyerfest pamphelt all the way thorugh the night before and saw the "autographs" section, and I saw that Avi Cohen (Alborozo's owner) would be doing autographs about the time we'd be arriving! It was limited to the first 200 people to arrive for autogrpahs, so I jumped all over that opportunity. I drew up a picture (which I am going to post tonight, to go along with the journal) of Alborozo and all of the other star horses, for Avi Cohen to sign. I was relived to see that the line wasn't even close to long when we got there, so I got in with my picture ready to go. My uncle and I took turns of holding our places in line so one of us could go and walk around a bit. I took some pictures of Fox Valley Oliver, who was being taken out of his stall so they could treat his abcess (poor baby, and was I the only one who realized he was hobbling from an abcess, not a broken leg? If he had a broken leg, he wouldn't even be there, duh!) He was gorgeous! Finally, the line started moving, and I anxiously waited my turn, and then I got the picture signed!!!!!! OMG I was geeking out, and Mr. Cohen said it was beautiful, which made me feel good! Then I went over to actually see Alborozo, and took some pictures of him, and got of picture of me with him. Same thing with Fox Valley Oliver, although his owner and I also talkined aobut abcesses, since my Emma jean had had one. I was very glad to see that they didn't use medicine boots, but the good-old-fashion duct-tape-and-baby-diapers treatment (just ask me, it's looong story to explain)! So that was really neat.

Saturday (continued): Then we headed over to the Special Run line, again, to give my Hunt-For-Mirage another go. She sold out again. But I did get the Shire and the Brumby! The Brumby was especially cool to me cuz Breyer's never made a Brumby model! So, to conclude the excitement y'all had about whether or not I got Mirage: no, I don't have her. That was my last Special Run ticket *cries* But oh, well! Next Breyerfest they're bound to have an even cooler model and I'll try my luck then! I got Romantico HHF last Breyerfest, and he is sooo kick-ass. I shopped around the vendors again, and still found nothing of great intrest, like yesterday. Some vendors had got Mirage but then resold her for waaaay more than what her original price was, which pissed me off. Cheapskakes.

Saturday (continuation): Then I actually got to explore the park. We headed over to the stables where we saw Bluegrass Bandit. Her owners noticed how I went up to her, blew in her nose, and rubbed her jaw in a circular motion. They asked if I work with horses, I said yes, and then enxt thing I knew I was holding the halter of Bluegrass Bandit (outside her stall) while they got her saddle for her showring debut. OMG It was too cool. She was soo much smaller than I thought, though! But she was gorgeous, and soooper mellow. Her owners came back, saw the huge grin on my face, and they smiled too. They ventured further into how I worked with horses, and I told them about the rescue, and they thought it was wonderful what I did. They asked if we've ever gotten any Tennessee Walkers (what Bandit is) and I told them we've gotten one or two, one which I loved very much (Piper) but most of our horses were grades. I told them about my Emma Jean, and so on and so forth, and then my uncle and I headed off to the International Muesuem of the Horse. He looooved the pieces about the Don Horses of Russia, and I loved the exhibit on the Civil War horses and the development of the Nez Perce appaloosas! And the Buffalo Soldier exhibit was awesome. But the muesuem had sooo much sutff to read, that I had to just skim over a lot of it. We also went to go see Pimlico RCA and Thee Desperado. Then we looked around at the gift shop, and then we head back to the hotel.

Saturday (more continuing): We then dropped off my spoils of Breyerfest mania and went to look at the malls in downtown Lexington, which are really cool how they are set up, there's just nobody there. Are the businesses there that casual? We got some Chinese food (yum, yum!) and went to the Holiday Inn North to look at the Artisan's gallery! NOW THAT WAS CRRRRAZY! I didn't know the people actually set up shop in thier own rooms! I only went into one or two rooms, cuz it's just plain awkward to walk into somebody's hotel room, I think. But I instead headed over to the ballroom to look at the actual Artisan's gallery. I got two works done by Nichole Hammett: a cremello stallion on a repainted Silver mold, and a majorly customized blue roan porcelain Tennessee Walker. That was reeeeally cool. I looove customized Breyers, even though they tend to be overpriced. These two were the prettiest ones I saw that were under three-hundred dollars! :faint:

So the model count so far is:
-Patagonia, the Polo Pony
-Pharoh, horse with Egpytian Hyroglyphs
-Chang'an, Tang Dynasty Horse
-Matrix, Fall 2008 Collector's Choice
-Noelle, 2008 Holiday Horse (got that before it was released!)
-Pimlico RCA
-Adriano, from Breyerfest 2004!
-Alborozo model
-Saltire, the Shire
-Melbourne, the Brumby
-CM Cremello horse, which I'm calling "Pina Colada" for now
-CM TW Blue Roan Mare, which I have no name for yet....

And I also got a call form ym parents saying that my online bank statement betrayed my blowing out of my debit card. I was shocked that I had spent that money from work sooo fast lmao! I need to learn to be thrifty from now on!

======JOURNAL
Okay, so, I'll start from day 1. Here it goes!

Wednesday: I left at 6 in the morning (getting up that early can't be healthy) and we drove all the way to Jackson, TN. Stayed the night. Visited the Casey Jones muesuem and had dinner there. Good baked potato!

Thursday: Got up early again and drove all the way to our hotel in Lexington! We also stopped in Elizabethtown, KY (cuz Orlando Bloom was there lmao!) and it was pretty, but not much there. Collapsed on hotel bed and went to sleep.

Friday: Now here's where the real fun begins! We got up a bit later than usual, got ready, and headed out to the KY Horse Park. Just as gorgeous as when I last went! I went straight to my workshop "Sculpting 101" with Sue Sifton! My uncle waited in line with our special run ticket, since it's time slot was during my workshop. The Mirage model I wanted sold out quickly, so I told him we'd try again Saturday. The workshop was oookay, I was prolly the only person there with a southern draaaaawl (really awkward, I kept being stared at when I talked!) The instructor was not my favorite, sadly, but our live horse that modeled for us was just a big sweeite! He looked just like my first foster horse, Song, and I thought it was her until I saw he had a twig-and-berries, so my hopes of my foster horse somehow ending up in KY Horse Park were crushed lmao. And my sculpture sucked... it sucked turkey balls.

Friday (continued): So I got out of the workshop, convinced that I would never lay eyes on the monster work I had created ever again, for my sake. I went over to the arena, where my uncle was still standing in line for the special run models, and went through that line. I got Pharoh and Patagonia! We looked around at the vendors, and I begant o get a subtle headache. I ignored it, thinking it would go away. Wrong. We went over to get some lunch, and my head was pounding and my stomach began to bubble sickly. I felt awful. It seemed like the eeefing cashier wanted to take as long as possible to get a bottle of water out to us, and the baked beans my uncle ordered smelled just awful to me then. My headache kept getting worse, it was sweltering hot in that arena, and I seriously tohught I would throw up right then and there in the food line. Just as the cashier fianlly handed us the water bottle for me, I asked my uncle "Do I look green, or pale, or something?", and then my vision blacked out, I felt my legs give way, and then next thing I knew I woke up with a bunch of people standing around me (a medic, a nice lady was holding my hand, my uncle had my feet, two other people standing beside me telling me it was okay, and a good handful of curious spectators). I thought, "Did what I think just happen just happen?" Yup, folks, I had FAINTED!!!! I had had almost no food that day, and I had a previously existing headache, and it was over 95-degrees inside that arena. Not good. The medic took me up to the air-conditioned room overlooking the arena, and I sat in that room for a good two hours. My head wasn't throbbing anymore, but I still felt horribly sick. I would've just gone home right then and there, but nooooo, I had another workshop in the afternoon.

Friday (continuingly continued): So I went to the workshop, Pastelling Model Horses, which I learned a lot from!! I still had an awful, uncooperative stomach, but I held through. I actually wanted to learn this! And the instructor was awesome. Really funny and lively, and much nicer. So I went home, still feeling like I was going to hurl, but with a half-pastelled horse!! And I got to the room, flopped down on the bed and slept for two hours straight. I had wanted to just lie down all along, but I had nowhere to lie down. But when I woke up, my uncle forced some Alka Skeltzer (my gag reflex kicked in once or twice) and then I let that settle. But then fifteen minutes later I was eating a whole plate of Filet Mingon and a Loaded Baked Potato. WIERD!

I'll put up another jorunal tomorrow recapping Sat. and Sun., and Mon. and Tues. Friday was a buttload of events, as you read....

Also, I'm working on a "The Last Unicorn" picture, so look around for that, and the picture I drew of Alborozo and Friends that Avi Cohen signed!!!

Au revoir!
